Background

Sales executives at ELC visit their premium customers on daily basis to show them the new products that are launched or visit prospective customers who show interest in the ELC products. These execs require sample products during their visits. As per the conventional way the sales execs used to place orders for sample products through phone calls or mail. Before receiving the products the sales execs had to get approval from their senior management on these orders. This ordering and approval process used to take days to finish. During this duration, there were chances that the execs would have the customers let go or even the premium customers would feel neglected.
Also, due to the old school way of ordering and approving the senior management used to get off track on how many sample products were ordered. In this process, the approver would not get an overall view of all the orders placed by the sales execs, and the approver used to approve those orders which were unnecessary causing a loss to the company.
The ELC team asked us to transform their tedious old-school way of ordering and approving a digital experience that would not only save time but also benefit the organization on whole.

Objective
To digitize the process of ordering and reduce the time lag for approving orders. Also to get statistical data and insights of the orders being placed and approved
Design Process
As most of the research was already been done by the ELC team and also the requirements were quite clear and straightforward, I was only responsible for understanding the business process of ordering and approving, shaping the user flow, user experience, visual design, and design hand-off.

The user can be both Requester & Approver i.e. place orders for themselves and also approve the orders of their subordinates. The UI helps the users to place orders, view order history, pending order & user approvals, & edit user account information.

Admin View
The Admin view enables the admin to add, approve & suspend an Sales Executive. It also helps the admin to track all the orders placed by Sales Executives across all the brands, doors & cost centers.
